Combating Water Scarcity in Latur: Akka Foundation's Efforts Towards Sustainable Solutions
The Latur district of Marathwada has been the site of several droughts, leaving its citizens vulnerable to the water crisis. In the past, they have had to rely on supply trains to fulfil their basic drinking water needs, a dire situation that no human being should have to endure. The thought of people, especially children, going thirsty in such a parched land is heart-wrenching. The gravity of the water crisis in this region cannot be emphasized enough. It was during one such crisis that the Akka Foundation came to the rescue. With the launch of the JalYukt Shivar Abhiyan, they aimed to prevent such a situation from ever occurring again.
